2009.07.04 STRIKE! ;)

Desperately needed to blow some steam. Thank God for my friends being "game" on a Saturday night. :) It was already 7PM, but we finally decided on something to do: dinner + bowling! Got to MOA around 7:30-8:00, met up with Kat, Wilex, Jay, Eliel, Kuya Renwick, and Chino. Originally, we wanted to eat at Gerry's Grill, but it was full. So ate at Dampa instead. Yummy food! The place was... hot, loud, and confusing. But it didn't really matter, we talked, ate, and laughed a lot. :)

After dinner, we went to check if the bowling lanes were still open. They were! ...til 12MN. So we played a couple of games. Just a comment on everyone's game:
  • Eliel - fancy pose, with spin, tires easily!
  • Jay - gay shot! (10kph?!) but somehow, it's effective!
  • Kat - soft shot, but Jay's was still softer.. lol :P
  • Wilex - power shot, lots of 9s
  • Chino - even more powerful shot, but the direction is towards the gutter!
  • Billy - lame straight shot, tried to learn with spin, only one strike!

We really had a blast. Again, laughed a lot.. really at everyone's misfortune. :)) Funny story about my only strike of the night. Before the game began, I told them that I really wanted to score a strike even just for once. A few times I came close, but really couldn't. Come the 2nd to the last frame of the 2nd game.. I posed and prepared to shoot. As I was running through the lanes, Kat suddenly shouted "Billy, si Riva oh!". Then*poof* I scored a strike! hahaha!

In the end, I scored a measly 88 :c (see the rest of the scores above)

Then, we left MOA using 3 cars (mine, Eliel's, and Chino's). Went to drop off Yza and proceeded to Caltex Starmart at Chino Roces. This place is becoming our little "tambay" spot (because of Eliel's pseudo-unlimited gas card). There, we bought ice cream, chips, and water. We played cards, bluff and heart attack.

Highlights of the night: Queens. During bluff, we made our own rule to remove the cards face down if we were able to complete all instances (e.g. 4 Qs). Before we even began, Eliel got 4 Qs and placed it down. During Chino's turn, he bluffed "isang Q". Obviously, it was a bluff and Eliel busted him! At the same time, he showed the collected 4 Qs. After literally 2 seconds, it was Jay's turn. Without thinking, he said "isang Q"! LOL. =)) laughed our asses off.

3AM and everyone's sleepy. Went our separate ways. Just for kicks, I decided to time my travel time from Caltex to my house. I left at 3:04AM, got home at 3:21AM. 17 minutes.. :D speed rush! :)

Next week: poker at Eliel's?

2009.07.03 Motorcycle down

Actually forgot where this happened, but as I was driving along some street, I saw an accident scene where a motorcycle was laying flat on the ground. (It's actually a lot worse than it looks) But again, boring stuff.

2009.07.02 Eliel is "changing the rules"

For weeks, Eliel has been excited to "change the rules" (quoting his soon-to-be new car's tagline). The weekend passed by, but he was still car-less. But today is the day! He excused himself from work and claimed his brand new "bading beige" Honda City! :P Here's a picture of the keys.

If you want to hear a funny story, just ask him about his encounter with the thermal scanner! ;)

2009.07.01 Insect on my windshield

I was just about to drive off when I noticed something on my windshield. It's a dead bug, or so I thought. In an effort to remove it from my windshield, I sprayed water to activate the car's wiper. To my surprise, however, it was still alive! At least for a couple more seconds before my wiper killed it. Sorry, bug.

On a side note, I hate how lame the macro feature of my phone is. I can't take nice close-up pictures of anything. :(

2009.06.30 DLSAA newsletter

Got my first DLSAA newsletter. Boring really, didn't even bother reading it.

2009.06.29 Pillow-less

Remember my trip to Trinoma yesterday? Well on our way back home, it rained.. hard. And it just so happened that our maid decided to put our mattresses and pillows on the roof to sun-dry them (even though they weren't really washed - don't ask me, I don't get it either). When we got home, they were still at the roof. Only, instead of being sun-dried, they were soaking wet!!! >.< Luckily, I was using my favorite pillow (a down pillow Riva gave me a while back) when the other pillows were taken to the roof. Really love that pillow.

We ended up sleeping without any mattresses and pillows for 2 nights! Thank God for folding beds, throw pillows, and sofas.
